Pre-Cast Above Ground SWS Concrete Shelters
American Tornado Master's Concrete Advantage:
Our Precast above ground concrete shelters are built with 1/2" rebar steel on 12" centers, throughout the walls.
- The Ceiling and Slab both have 1/2" rebar steel on 9" centers.
- The Slab is 12" thick, six sack concrete mix - 6000 PSI
- The Walls and Ceiling are 4" thick, six sack concrete and fiber mess mix
- The Walls and Ceiling are secured to the slab with (9) 1/2" x 8" x 10" long steel plates. The plates are attached with 5/8" x 4" bolts into the slab. Two plates on each end as well as the front, and three plates on the rear of the shelter.
- Two Ventilating Systems: One 8" wind turbine and one 4" exhaust vent.
- The Door is 36" wide by 6'8" tall, built with 12ga., 14ga., and 16ga. steel channels, ribs, and exterior skins. Includes three deadbolt locks.
- We dig down 10" into the ground, set the unit into the opening, and then set the upper unit onto the slab. After attaching the plates, we'll backfill the excavated dirt back against the base of the shelter.
- An additional option is delivering 3 yards of dirt, and backfilling it against the sides and back of the shelter. Tapering is available.
